In 2024, Kuma International once again had the opportunity to work with Italian and Bosnian youth through a project organized by UNFPA, with the support of the Italian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As one of the implementing partners, Kuma curated a journey of connection, creativity, dialogue, and new perspectives on peace and reconciliation between Sarajevo and Udine.
The project brought together 32 young participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy, creating a space for exchange, learning, and collective reflection. Throughout the program, participants explored themes of memory, identity, coexistence, art, and contemporary social realities through workshops, discussions, cultural visits, and encounters with artists, journalists, curators, and cultural workers from both countries.
We had the pleasure of hosting the group in Sarajevo, travelling together to Udine, and collaborating with friends, colleagues, and institutions who generously shared their knowledge, experiences, and practices with the participants. It was deeply inspiring to witness the curiosity, openness, and critical reflections that emerged throughout the exchange, as well as the meaningful connections created between the young participants.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the team at UNFPA and the Italian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina for their trust and support, as well as to everyone who contributed to the project and helped make this experience possible.
Special thanks go to: Adela Kusur, Rémy Ourdan, Aida Šehović, Lejla Odobašić Novo, Haris and Ferida Abdagić, the War Childhood Museum and Gallery Manifesto in Sarajevo, Francesca Cristin, Gian Franco Ellero, Bottega Errante and Stamperia Art Albicocco in Udine.
