She lives and works in Sarajevo where in 2018 she founded Kuma International.

“When I decided that it was the right time to open Kuma International, I knew there was no better place than Sarajevo. I am thankful because Sarajevo blessed me with purpose and hope for a better future. The idea of establishing a center dedicated to visual arts from post-conflict societies is a dream I have been cultivating for years. I see Kuma as a safe harbour, at least I wish to make it a place like that. In Bosnian, Kuma means godmother; it is a significant figure in their society. It is a central figure for Italy too, so it made sense for me to call it this way. I see Kuma as a place for people to feel at home, safe.  I want Kuma to be the same for me too. As a foreigner living in Bosnia-Herzegovina, I wish Kuma will bring me luck and protect me in this adventure”.
