The podcast was recorded in the summer of 2025 by students from the ten Schools of Advance Studies during the educational journey and training programme “Laboratorio Balcanico. Novecento tra Storia, Memorie e Narrazioni,” organised in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Giacomo Leopardi School of Advanced Studies on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide in collaboration with Roberta Biagiarelli / Babelia – Progetti culturali, responsible for the project design and socio-historical research, and Istoreco – Reggio Emilia / Viaggi della Memoria which coordinated the educational journey. The technical organization was managed by CultureLabs.
The project was born to give voice to the impressions, emotions, and reflections of a new generation confronting a complex history and a present shaped by memory, wounds, resilience, and a desire for the future. The result is an interwoven journey of stories, places, and people that portrays a Bosnia and Herzegovina made of history, plurality, and shared beauty; a country capable of surprising beyond all expectations.
Following the training phase and field recordings in Srebrenica, the editorial concept, editing, and post- production were developed by Claudia Zini, Haris Sahačić, and Velibor Božović in partnership with Atelier del Suono eTERITORIUM. Original music by Haris Sahačić.
